End December is tourist season, and the Haldwani-Nainital road is hell.
So we decided to return by the other, lesser known foothill town, Ramnagar.
The day started as a cold, cloudy December morning.
And then...
the sun came out.
Empty road winding through pretty hamlets.
Always the valleys, falling away on one side of the road.
Rivulets with bridges on which you can dawdle.
(That is me and my car dawdling...)
Then the pines give way to the broadleafs of the Corbett terai, and you are in the plains.
...........
I will be home in five hours.
I will be back here in thirty days, God willing..
